THE WHITE HAT – Italian Frozen Yogurt company’s sixth CELEBRITY-FOR-CHARITY event will be held on October 31, 2009, Saturday at the SM North EDSA Annex Building with special guest celebrity volunteer NICO IBAVIOSA.

Nico is a member of ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Batch 16 and a cast member of TV-5’s LIPGLOSS. He’s a sophomore student in UP Diliman where he’s also part of the swimming team. When he found out about TWH’s Charity program, he happily volunteered his time and named UP SAGIP ISKO as his beneficiary.

UP SAGIP ISKO (www.upsagipisko.org) started as a project spearheaded by the UP Diliman University Student Council whose goal is to organize relief operations, collect donations, and assist UP students who are badly affected by the recent typhoons. After tropical storm Ondoy’s aftermath, the students realized its pivotal role as a distinct and dedicated organization with volunteer relief operations in mind.

Since it’s also Halloween time, TWH decided to add special awards for customers who come in costume. There will be special awards for the following 3 categories: Best Costume (Male), Best Costume (Female), and Best Costume (Kids).

Each winner, who will be chosen by Nico, will win a special prize of 2 MONTHS SUPPLY OF FREE YOGURT + a SOUVENIR CAP + SOUVENIR PICTURE

“The recent typhoons brought a lot of hardship to many Filipinos. TWH is glad to be able to help in our small way. We recently donated P 5 for every cup sold from Oct 1 to 15 and we’re happy to be able to do more with the help of Nico. With our unique program, celebrities get a chance to actually SERVE customers as a symbol of the way they serve the less fortunate. And since 50% of the entire day’s sales will be donated to their chosen charity, everyone will feel good to contribute to this worthy cause and also promote their health by eating FRESH and REAL yogurt from Italy, where the best tasting yogurt in the world comes from,” said Eric Chao, marketing manager of TWH.
